No startup, no investors. Just two book lovers who built the app they wished they had.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Book Nova is available for free with a few limitations.

Free version

  • Up to 4 books added per day
  • Maximum 150 books ADDED in total
  • Up to 3 simultaneous loans/borrows
  • Reading calendar
  • Access to core badges

Premium version

  • Unlimited book additions per day
  • Unlimited finished books
  • Unlimited loans and borrows
  • Basic reading stats (monthly/yearly)
  • Advanced detailed statistics
  • Access to all premium badges and medals

All core features remain free to use!

An internet connection is only required for:

  • Scanning ISBN barcodes (automatic lookup)
  • Manually searching for a book via ISBNdb
  • Purchasing Premium

Everything else (library, stats, badges, loans) works offline in Book Nova. Tip: add a book manually while offline if you know its details (title, page count, etc.).

You can cancel your trial period directly from your store.

On Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right
  3. Select Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
  4. Find BookNova in the list
  5. Tap Cancel subscription
  6. Follow the instructions to confirm

On iOS (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Open your device's Settings app
  2. Tap your name at the top of the screen
  3. Select Subscriptions
  4. Find BookNova in the list
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial
  6. Confirm the cancellation

Note: You will keep access to premium features until the end of your trial period.

Important: Cancellation must be done at least 24 hours before the end of the trial period to avoid being charged.

What is exported:

  • All your books
  • Your badges
  • Your loans
  • Your borrows

Export

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap "Export my data"
  3. A JSON file will be created

Import

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap "Import my data"
  3. Select your file

Import modes:

  • Replace : erases existing data
  • Merge : adds without duplicates

Automatic backup

The app performs a weekly automatic backup on your device.
